Yes, my faithful readers, yesterday I harvested the first garden fresh tomato of the season from the Nichols homestead garden... and yes, garden fresh tomatoes are just as good as I remember them being. Too bad it was only a yellow pear tomato, so it was a small, yet very satisfying mouthful.
I should also admit that on Sunday afternoon I went out to the garden and there was a yellow pear tomato that looked close to being ripe, so rather than waiting, I plucked it and popped it into my mouth... only to realize it definitely wasn't ripe enough to eat yet. and green garden tomatoes still taste like green tomatoes. Nothing too exciting about that. Sigh.
I'm definitely drooling over the idea of more garden freshness tonight...
