More Neurotic Behavior?

The dishtowels. Dishtowels are my "one weakness" as Miss Lane says in Lark Rise to Candleford. I wash them a lot. Pretty much any time I feel they've been there for more than a few days, or after they start to get even remotely scummy, they hit the laundry. I own a lot of dishtowels, many of which are starting to look more like rags than dishtowels from lots of use and even more washing. You can imagine my distress when I opened the drawer and saw this:

GASP!! It's like living a nightmare: No clean dishtowels (it feels strangely like my childhood). True there are clean ones downstairs on the couch waiting to be folded, but still, this is a near tragedy for this dishtowel fanatic who had a refrigerator emergency this week.

But I digress... where was I? Oh yes, neurotic behavior. As you now know, I have a fair number of dishtowels, and most are in sets that match each other. I was recently mocked when someone I live with caught me putting away the dishtowels in sets: the leaf ones together, the matching flower ones together, etc. This isn't crazy right? It's just practical. I want the matching ones out at the same time. Why wouldn't I put them away together?? Right??

There, that's better. Clean and sorted. Not neurotic at all.

You know you're Type A when...

You grab two clean towels out of the laundry, only to realize that they are both green and they clash. You actually go out of your way to find a purple towel to go with the green towel.

It was a Monk moment... kind of scary... and here I am admitting it on my blog. Worse and worse.
