Today we remember Christ buried in the tomb, awaiting the Resurrection... and we got buried in at least 6 inches of snow last night. Really it might be more like 8 inches, but its hard to say with the drifting - I definitely sunk up to my knee in the drift on the front porch this morning. I'm thinking the open toe sandals to go with my dress tonight might not work... how does an Easter dress with knee high boots work?
Other great stuff:
The Living Stations of the Cross with my Life Teen kids was yesterday. I think its the largest crowd I've ever seen stay for it, despite the blizzard going on outside. The LT kids did an awesome job and I heard lots of comments that it was "the best yet!" That's encouraging since I can never tell from year to year, but I guess its a good sign that for the last several years, after each one, numerous people say its the best yet. One of the cool things is to see all the young kids actually be able to connect what we are celebrating in the Triduum, on Good Friday. The young ones get quite upset about Jesus being pushed around by angry soldiers, and then killed. Its unfortunate we can't / don't act out the resurrection for their sakes... but I'm not sure how we'd do that exactly... hmmm.
Anthony L, my best friend, age 3. His parents invited me over for dinner and watching the Passion. I walked in and Anthony had to show me all his favorite stuff. "Aunt Reenie, I have a surprise for you..." He'd hold the toy behind his back, grinning from ear to ear and overflowing with excitement and anticipation. Naturally, I responded in like excitement, "A surprise??? I wonder what it is???" Anthony would pull it out triumphantly and yell, "A train!" "This (xylophone on wheels)" and many other exciting things. He'd demonstrate how it worked, etc. and then come up with the next surprise... it was quite a surprising evening. I guess life is just an exciting place when you're three and have a friend over... or when you're 28 and have a friend that excited to show you all his fun stuff.
Rosie should also get honorable mention here. Although she can't show me surprises yet, she is one of the cutest and most charming little munchkins around. I have to be very careful in my friendship with Rosie, because her brother thinks that he gets me to himself, and gets quite upset if I ignore him to be friends with Rosie. So I am trying to introduce the concept that I can play with Rosie, or smile at her, or spend one minute with her between surprises and games with her big brother. Thankfully Rosie doesn't pick up on the politics of the situation and doesn't take it personally that Anthony insists on more of my attention than she does.

Definitely had cold toes on Friday. That's cool about Stations, I thought it was really good myself :) It was fun watching the crowd of little kids be so enthralled.
In follow up to some of your "words" about Kwame, here's an article I found on MSN...

Happy Easter to you and the BOC! :)
Happy Easter!! I too saw the reports on Kwame and thought of you. :) I'm glad to hear Stations was "the best yet." I wish I could've been there, oh well, "next year in Jerusalem" I suppose. :) Speaking of visiting, I should be back in MI in June, and we'll be traveling the world in May, so no worries about you visiting us, I'll bring the munchkin your way as soon as I can! :)
