It amazes me every single Monday how fast the weekend goes, and this weekend was no exception...
Friday night- I picked and canned 3 quarts of raspberries. It was a great way to unwind after the work week and get outside to enjoy the gorgeous evening. Then I picked up a friend and we went to a birthday party for another friend, which was fun too.
Saturday - I did senior pictures for two young ladies, stopped at the Ann Arbor Farmers Market for my occasional dose of Ann Arbor craziness. I always enjoy the farmers market, and am always amazed at how crowded it gets! I particularly enjoyed that at the 6 different ways to enter the market, Obama supporters were standing there asking people if they'd registered to vote and handing out signs. Grrr. Liberal A2 people were loving it and it seemed like every other person I passed was carrying a big yard sign with them. Speaking of which, I need to remember to get a sign for my yard (and definitely not an Obama one). Other than that, it's fun to check out all the fresh goods, the farmers, the flowers, ahhh, love it.
I headed home to do some yard work, and then back out again for Mass and dinner for Donal's birthday with my fam and a bunch of D's friends. That was fun, lots of fun people, and some very adorable munchkins. I also brought the BOC who enjoyed the 4 hours of racing around with my parent's dogs. Actually, Suzie still gets picked on - Rocky always humps her and slobbers all over her neck (although she never contests his position as top dog) and even Charlie, their laid back and non-dominant dog, had to prove he also ranks higher than Suze. She needs to learn to defend herself. Instead she just sits next to the window after running for awhile, gazing at me and willing for me to let her in. She's a cutie. Funnily enough, Maggie doesn't get picked on EVER. Maybe that has to do with the death threat she issues the first time any dog tries anything on her... and after that, everybody understands each other and she can play in peace.
Sunday - I spent the day at Cora & Steve's house. They are re-doing their garage so I volunteered to help out. The shingles had already been removed, but we replaced some roof planks, removed all the old wood siding/windows, had to replace a few studs, cut and installed USB on the whole garage, and got the house wrap on. Next Steve will have to actually shingle and side it. It was a long day, but fun at the same time. In the love languages book, it talks about one aspect of quality time is working on a project together- and that is definitely me. I enjoy working on projects with the people I love, especially when it is their project and I don't have to make any of the big decisions :D After a long and satisfying day of work, I headed home to do some laundry and then drag my tired self to bed.
Another weekend over and done...
