Last night I was picking some tomatoes out of the random volunteer tomoato patch that was supposed to just be a flower bed. Anyway, it was beginning to sprinkle, so I was hurriedly trying to grab the ripe tomatoes before the rain. Suzie suddenly reached next to the tomato bush and next came out with a baby rabbit in her mouth. Squeal shake shake shake "Suzie Drop it drop it DROP IT!" She dropped it and it lay there twitching a bit. "Oh crap! Why do I tell her to drop it before it's all the way dead! I do not have time for this... (remember I'm a bleeding heart for all things cute and fuzzy, even if they do eat tulips)." I put the dogs inside while debating what I should do if it isn't dead... "do I let them back out? Argh. I really shouldn't interupt nature." Thankfully, by the time I went back over to the bunny, it had stopped twitching and was clearly dead. So much for hoping it would spring to life and run away. I do not like to see anything get killed. I'm definitely an animal lover and little bunnies are soooo cute. And yet, little bunnies become big bunnies who reproduce faster than Catholic homeschoolers and then eat my garden... sigh. And Suzie is a dog. Dogs eat rabbits. and frankly, I'm okay with that, I just wish the rabbits would stay out of my yard so I wouldn't have to clean them up.
It was chilly and rainy and ended up being a very cozy sort of evening. I put on comfy work out pants and a ragged huge sweatshirt and even made a mug of hot chocolate. I must say, I do love fall. I am not ready for summer to be over, but I can't help enjoying a cozy evening at home.
At the end of the evening, after talking to a good friend for almost 2 hours (we only actually manage to call each other once or twice a year)... anyway, I was in a hurry to get to bed, so I was making my yogurt peach shake for breakfast, so I blended it up and then couldn't get the pitcher off the blender, so I gave a tug and managed to dump a good amount of peach yogurt shake down my front. Nice. I don't know how it passed the bulky sweatshirt and the t-shirt and oozed down my entire front, but it was quite an end to the day. Sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself... and change your shirt.

Ha! I had a blender catastrophe last night too, I wonder if it's transmissible over the phone. Half way through the blade locked up, and so the motor was grinding away at the immobile blade...and smoking. So (I did not know this) apparently you can blend things in a food processor, so the smoothie was not entirely lost...but maybe not quite worth all the effort. And oddly, the food processor was better at blending than the blender ever was.
